Over the course of the year I have noticed and enjoyed that the PLD and toolkits run by Manaiakalani follow the Learn create share structure that we are aiming to use with our students. It was good being reminded today about the reason for that and the importance of connectedness for both teachers and learners. It also helped me see, as a junior teacher, how to scaffold younger learners into learning about Learn create share by having that main focus term by term and using the learning site to facilitate that.
As well as that, it was really encouraging to have a look at some other learning sites, as well as getting feedback on my own. I have new ideas and resources to add, as well as goals for updating and improving what I am already doing.
One of those goals that I can start using with my learners right away is supporting them to navigate our learning site and use the new links and resources. This will promote more independence for them, but also set my year 2 learners for using the learning site to access their learning next year.
Personally, I was definitely looking at today with a teacher hat on. Having the focus on sites was actually a nice way to get some planning and work done while doing some valuable learning.

I have made some updates and improvements throughout the site, but primarily on the literacy pages. I am also now inspired to keep going and get more done!
